Liberty University’s Aeronautical program was established in 2002 by Capt. Ernie Rogers (USN Retired)
Since that time, the program grew in 2009 to include online degree options. In 2013 the Flight Training Affiliate (FTA) network began, where Liberty University School of Aeronautics Bachelor of Science in Aviation online degree partnered with approved flight schools nationwide. It is now one of the largest faith-based collegiate aviation programs in North America. With a vision to impact the world for Christ as the preeminent center of aerospace education, the School of Aeronautics daily carries out its mission to equip, mentor, and send Champions for Christ into the aerospace community.
School of Aeronautics programs integrate a biblical worldview with aviation excellence while seeking to instill and develop the best qualities of airmanship in each of our graduates. When speaking of airmanship, the focus of our programs is on the skills and knowledge needed to safely and efficiently operate and maintain air vehicles, whether they are manned or unmanned. Good airmanship encompasses the discipline, leadership skills, and character needed to excel in any aviation profession, and that is what we promote and espouse every day.

Liberty University defines first responders as students who are currently (or within the last five years) employed full-time, volunteering full-time, or retired from areas of law enforcement, emergency services, fire safety and rescue work, TSA, and Civil Air Patrol (CAP) senior members.
The First Responder Discount is also offered in place of a civil air patrol scholarship for those public servants.

High School Dual Enrollment
High school juniors or seniors can apply to Liberty’s Dual Enrollment Program. Students have an opportunity to earn an associate degree at the same time they graduate high school. With over 30 credits of aviation courses available, as well as many general education courses, this is a great way to achieve a head-start on your degree. Dual enrolled students receive a tuition discount, high school credit, and university credit. (.5 HS credit for every 3 College credits).
