Accelerated Training
Time to complete (in weeks):

Flight training is a proficiency-based activity. Because of this, the time that is takes to complete pilot training may vary from student to student. One example that I use is a college math class. At the end of the semester the professor issues grades. Some students receive C’s and D’s, some students receive A’s and B’s. However, to translate that into aviation, those with C’s and D’s may be able to land the airplane some of the time. We will get everyone to the finish line, but it may take some students longer.
Flight training uses a building block approach, and because of this, it is important to not have long gaps between your flights. If you do have large gaps, you can regress and loose proficiency. This would cause is to have to retrain you on a certain area (thus costing more money).
We typically schedule students for a morning flight, then you take a lunch break, then followed by a flight in the afternoon. You will also have a ground training session with your instructor each day. We continue this schedule 6 days a week.
Example:
- Flight: 7am – 9am
- Ground Brief: 9am – 11am
- Lunch Break
- Self-Study Time: 1pm – 3pm
- Flight: 3pm – 5pm
- FAA Examiners come it flight school
