Helicopter Commercial Pilot Training Prerequisites:
+ Be able to read, speak, write and understand the English language (14-CFR part 61.65 (a)(2)).
+ Holder of at least an FAA Private Pilot certificate
with 150 hours total time as a pilot.
+
100 hours in powered aircraft of which 50 must be in helicopters.
+ 100
hours of Pilot-in-Command (PIC) flight time, which must include at least 35
hours in helicopters and 10 hours in cross-country flight in helicopters
+ 10 hours
of solo flight in a helicopter, which includes at least one cross-country
flight with landings at a minimum of three points, with one segment
consisting of a straight-line distance of at least 50 nautical miles from
the original point of departure; and 5 hours in night VFR conditions with 10
take-offs and landings (with each landing involving a flight in the traffic
pattern).
+ A current 3rd class or greater FAA medical certificate (holders of a US pilot certificate issued on the basis of an ICAO pilot certificate must have a valid, unexpired ICAO medical certificate).
