What it is:
This 2-day "Aircraft Maintenance Course for
Aircraft Owners and Pilots", taught by pilot/mechanics,
is designed for pilots and aircraft owners wanting to know more about the
operation of their aircraft and the maintenance that can be accomplished by a
pilot.
What you will learn:
This practical course teaches you how to
change oil, filters, tires, spark plugs, safety wire, and other preventative
maintenance procedures through hands-on instruction. In addition, aircraft
systems such as vacuum pumps, magnetos, fuel systems, electrical systems, and
avionics are explained in detail. You will learn how to better operate,
trouble-shoot, and handle malfunctions in your aircraft even if you are not
going to perform maintenance. One session introduces you to the resources and
documents used in maintenance work including an explanation of the maintenance
log. A session on maintenance human factors and how to communicate with your
maintenance professionals is also included.
